After finishing her undergraduate and clinical training at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lauren Weindling began her career in emergency medicine. For 10 years, she worked as a PA in the emergency departments of Washington Hospital in Pennsylvania and South Shore Hospital in Massachusetts before returning to Connecticut. She has also practiced in orthopedics with Connecticut Orthopaedics.

She has not only gained clinical experience but also pursued further education, completing West Virginia University's Certificate Program in Emergency Medicine. Recently, she achieved her Certificate of Added Qualification in Emergency Medicine from the NCCPA.

Upon returning to her home state of Connecticut she joined the faculty at the University of Bridgeport PA Program. She enjoys teaching students the value of medical interviewing and physical exam skills. In addition, she mentors graduating students to prepare them for their transition to clinical practice.

Since 2019, she has served as the program director. In this role, she enjoys seeing students progress from newly enrolled students to confident and knowledgeable clinicians.

Lauren Weindling is a member of ConnAPA, PAEA, and AAPA and serves as chair of the UB CHS Simulation Committee. She also serves as an advisory board member for the UBSN Nursing Advisory Board and Radically Prepared- A Project to Develop a Skillful Resilient Professional Counselor Workforce for Southern Connecticut.
