Since joining the University of Bridgeport in May 2023, I have served as the ABSN Coordinator, Assistant Professor/Clinical Instructor, and Academic Advisor. In these roles, I bring nearly two decades of nursing experience to education and student support. With 18 years of nursing practice, I specialize in pediatric special needs and elementary school nursing, bringing real-world expertise to the classroom. I continue to work per diem as a nurse in a pediatric special needs residential facility, ensuring my teaching remains grounded in current clinical practice.

Currently, I serve as the designated instructor for NURS 325 Caring for the Childrearing and have also taught NURS 201 Introduction to Professional Nursing. My experience extends to lab instruction and clinical group supervision in the Bridgeport school system, providing students with a comprehensive learning experience.

As a Doctoral Student in Health Science (DHSc) at the University of Bridgeport, I am deeply committed to advancing nursing pedagogy through my research on education. This dedication to academic excellence has been recognized through the Doctoral Assistance Scholarship.

My active involvement in professional organizations, such as the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) and Sigma Theta Tau Mu Chi, is a testament to my commitment to staying connected to the broader nursing community and current healthcare trends.

As the AACN Essentials Champion, I ensure our curriculum aligns with the latest standards in nursing education. Additionally, my acceptance into the UDL cohort #3 underscores my passion for universal design in learning, which I am eager to incorporate into my courses to enhance student engagement and success.

My approach to nursing education combines ongoing clinical expertise with a commitment to innovative teaching methods. I aim to prepare the next generation of nurses for the complex and evolving healthcare landscape.
