Rosaura Frias

I came to UB first as a student when I enrolled in 2021 in the Master's in Dental Hygiene Education and Public Health. While doing my Master's degree, I had the opportunity to do my student teaching at Fones School of Dental Hygiene as a clinical and didactic instructor in the 2022 Fall Semester. This opportunity was vital to me, and in January of 2023, joining UB as an adjunct clinical instructor for an outside rotation. I graduated from the Master's degree program in May of 2023 and became a full-time faculty member during the fall. I taught dental radiology and dental pharmacology to 1st-year dental hygienist students, coordinated the radiology department, and was a clinical instructor for second-year dental hygiene students. Starting this Fall Semester, I am teaching Clinical Practice 1 for the 1st year dental hygiene students and coordinating their Clinic. I am very excited to be part of UB, not only because it has provided me with a great learning experience, but has provided me with the space and opportunity to grow into the profession that I love and want to continue to support.
