Dr. Richard Torres is a graduate of the Boston University School of Medicine, and has an MPH from Southern Connecticut State University. He has performed Fellowships with the University of San Francisco AIDS Program, NYU School of Global Public Health, National Hispanic Medical Association and Connecticut Health Foundation. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Academy of HIV Medicine and the American Society of Geriatric Specialists.
Dr. Torres currently serves as Associate Medical Director for Community and Public Health at Urban Health Plan in New York City. He is also a Clinical Associate with the University of Bridgeport’s Physician Assistant Institute. He is a National Health Service Corps Scholar and Ambassador, and has treated Hepatitis C and related conditions for the last 30 years. He practices Internal Medicine and is a national expert in the care of persons affected with HIV, Hepatitis C and those in Transgender Health. He is a frequent contributor to the Latino Commission on AIDS website on topics related to HIV and HCV.
