I joined the University of Bridgeport in 1996 as an Assistant Professor in the Chiropractic College teaching neuroscience and embryology. After moving to the newly formed Naturopathic College at UB in1999, I was the Associate Dean until 2002 and a faculty member until 2019, primarily teaching physiology, microbiology and histology courses. In 2019 I joined the Biology Dept. as an Associate Professor where I continue to teach anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and upper level biology courses as needed.
Ph.D., Stony Brook University, 1987 Department of Anatomical Sciences
Postdoctoral fellowship, Yale University Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology, 1988-1991
Postdoctoral fellow and Instructor, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Department of Cell Biology 1991-1996
Area of Interest:
I am primarily interested in elucidating the mechanism of action of industrial toxins such as glyphosate, amphotercin B, and chromate on the viability of bacteria, protozoa, and eukaryotic cells.
