Dr. PJ Wax is in his first year as an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for History and Social Sciences at the University of Bridgeport.

Dr. Wax is an accomplished academic and educator with a robust background in both K-12 and higher education. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his current role. He spent 17 years as a public-school social studies teacher, where he developed a strong foundation in curriculum assessment and development. His dedication to education led him to serve as a school administrator in an urban high school for 12 years, during which he honed his skills in school building leadership, restorative discipline practices, and teacher coaching and evaluation.

Dr. Wax also gained experience as a suburban middle school principal for one year, further expanding his leadership abilities. He also serves as an adjunct professor of history at Norwalk Community College, where he inspires and mentors students while continuing to refine his academic and instructional expertise. Dr. Wax is known for his commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, and his contributions to the field of history and education.
