Dr. Sharon Kratochvil joined the Ernest C. Trefz School of Business at the University of Bridgeport in August 2023 as an Associate Professor, Analytics. Her approach to teaching is student centric with a strong focus on making real world connections with course material, the practical application of course content in the workplace, and student discovery through projects, discourse, & in-class activities. She brings an enthusiasm for teaching coupled with an in-depth understanding of the analytics skills that college students need to thrive in today’s business world. She is excited to prepare students at University of Bridgeport for success after graduation.

Dr. Kratochvil is a recognized expert and thought leader in data and analytics. She has a proven track record of driving revenue growth and margin expansion through the creation of data assets, innovative analytics capabilities, and advanced analytics solutions. Dr. Kratochvil brings 30+ years of industry experience, working on both the agency and client side with retail data at scale, successfully creating business insights, developing business strategies, and designing marketing campaigns with high returns on investment. She has built, and led diverse high-performing analytics teams that monetized, productized, and democratized data and analytics capabilities across many industry categories such as financial services, grocery, drug, mass merchandise, and specialty, with premier retailers and direct-to-consumer companies including Citicorp, Michael Kors, Kroger, Safeway, Ahold, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Target and CPG companies such as Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, Kraft, Campbells, and Quaker.

Dr. Kratochvil is currently writing a book on customer productivity for retailers based on the Customer Revenue Model she developed over her 30+ years analyzing customer data. The Customer Revenue Model is a data, diagnostics, and planning strategic framework that empowers retailers to unlock the full potential of their most valuable asset—their customer base. This groundbreaking approach to customer productivity leverages a proprietary framework and AI to identify specific customers and their key spending behaviors that directly impact revenue. The mission of her book is to revolutionize the retail industry with a modern, innovative approach to analyzing business trends and leveraging customer data. The goal is to lead the charge in revitalizing the retail industry, paving the way for a new era of growth in retail.
