Xingguo Xiong is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut. He received his B.S. degree in Physics from Wuhan University, China, in 1994, his first Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1999, and his second Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2005. His research interests include Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS), Nanoelectronics, Artificial Intelligence and its applications. His work includes the design, fabrication, testing of various MEMS sensors and actuators, [2]rotaxane-based molecular and nanoscale electronic devices, AI-driven computer vision for environmental monitoring, as well as digital system design using ASIC and FPGA technologies. Dr. Xiong is the Director of the MicroN (Microsystem and Nanoelectronics) Laboratory at the University of Bridgeport. He is also the recipient of the 2009 Northeast ASEE (American Society for Engineering Education) Outstanding Teacher Award in recognition of his excellence in engineering education and research.
